“This is another fantastic performance by independent radio which continues to dominate the Irish airwaves. IBI members are close to their listeners and are successfully growing their audiences by giving them what they want. There is a very special relationship between a listener and their radio station and our range of quality programming which combines a strong local ethos with a focus on national issues of the day is the bedrock of our success”, said Scott Williams, chairman of the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI).
“Today’s figures confirm that Independent radio is a very strong and vibrant brand which has the ears of the nation. As we enter into the all important Christmas season, there is no doubt that independent radio stations will give advertisers the most cost effective and targeted platform to reach the nation’s radio listeners with almost 1.2 million listeners a day more than the RTÉ stations”, he added.
