IBI members move to Energia for 10% savings on energy costs
Nine of Ireland’s largest independent radio stations have tuned into large electricity savings with competitive energy provider Energia in a new deal established by the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI) with Energia. The IBI members initially signing up are: Clare FM, Cork’s 96 & 103, Donegal Highland Radio, East Coast FM, KCLR FM, Limerick’s 95FM, MidWest Radio LMFM in the north-east and Q102 in Dublin. The initial value of the deal is in the region of €114,000, and it will see Energia supply the nine stations with electricity.
Commenting on the deal, Lisa Ni Choisdealbha, IBI Development Director, commented: “Not only does the affinity deal with Energia offer IBI members significant cost savings, Energia also provide excellent customer service. In the current economic climate, all cost savings are extremely valuable. We look forward to more IBI members joining up, and to achieving further reductions with Energia over the coming years.”
Gary Ryan, Sales and Marketing Director, Energia, added: “Right now, cost savings are more important than ever for businesses. So it’s no surprise that a large number of the IBI’s member stations are tuning in to 10% reductions on their electricity costs.
“Energia works with a wide range of companies in the public and private sector throughout the country to deliver cost effective energy solutions that deliver real value for money.”
Energia has a 25% market share of the business electricity market on an all–island basis with 40,000 customers. Energia power stations at Huntstown in Dublin have the capability to supply up to 17% of the electricity requirements on an all-island basis. The company also supplies 20% of all gas consumed in Ireland by the country’s largest industrial and commercial gas users. Energia has offices in Dublin, Galway, Cork, Belfast and Omagh.
